    Overview

Waiting roomThe Michael R. Zent Healthcare Center (MRZHC) is located in Maryvale near 35th Avenue and Thomas Road in Phoenix. It is owned by Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS), a non-profit, non-sectarian organization that strengthens the community by providing behavioral health, healthcare and social services to individuals and families of all ages, faiths and backgrounds.

Formerly known as the Catalina Health Center, this healthcare center has been caring for the underserved in the region since 2014 and was renamed in 2016 to honor former JFCS CEO Dr. Michael R. Zent after his passing. In addition to behavioral health services, MRZHC added primary care services in 2015 to provide an integrated approach to healthcare. Learn more about integrated care.

    Pharmacy

MRZHC is certified by HealthyVerify as a healthcare location that adheres to procedures that reduce the spread of viruses and health-safety protocols, and is recognized as a Center of Excellence Family Center for providing integrated behavioral and primary levels of care. It has also been designated as a Mercy Care Center of Excellence for Transitioned Youth and a Blue Cross Blue Shield Arizona Center of Excellence for Transitional Aged Youth. Licensed clinicians employed by MRZHC can apply for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program, and licensed therapists and nurse practitioners qualify for the Arizona State Loan Repayment Program.

Behavioral health services include individual and group therapy, play therapy, psychiatric care and medication services. Primary care services include treatment for cold and flu, acute pain and injuries, high blood pressure and annual wellness exams.

JFCS does not deny access to integrated health services for individuals within Maricopa County based on their ability to pay. JFCS has a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.

In 2014, a partnership between MRZHC and Genoa Healthcare Pharmacy was initiated. MRZHC and Genoa worked collaboratively to develop an on-site pharmacy that could deliver service solutions for all JFCS healthcare centers.
