Let’s Lift Up Our Community Together

Food insecurity and the need for financial assistance affect people from all walks of life, showing no discrimination—impacting teens exiting the foster care system, domestic violence survivors, single-parent families and older adults in the community.

What is Our Emergency Financial Assistance Program?

JFCS' Emergency Financial Assistance program is dedicated to serving our active clients by covering critical short-term or one-time emergency expenses. This program addresses immediate needs, helping individuals and families move towards safety, stability and independence.

Due to job loss or other emergencies, our clients can find themselves unable to pay for essential needs, including rent, transportation and groceries. JFCS steps in to alleviate these financial burdens, allowing families to focus on mental and physical health issues without the added stress of everyday expenses. Your support helps bridge the gap with emergency assistance, ensuring members of our community can thrive in challenging times.

What Will Your Donation Cover?

Your donations can make a tangible difference in the lives of our community members facing urgent needs:

  • $1,500 will cover safe housing by paying move-in costs and the first month's rent for a family in need.
  • $500 can prevent utility disconnection, ensuring that a family remains warm and their lights stay on.
  • $350 provides three days of emergency housing in a hotel for someone without a home.
  • $250 covers the test fees for a client to earn their Arizona High School Equivalency Diploma, opening doors to new opportunities.
  • $70 purchases a monthly bus/light rail pass, enabling a client to access job opportunities and essential services.
  • $50 covers the cost for a client to obtain their original birth certificate and state ID card, critical documents for employment and housing.

Your generosity can help us provide these essential supports. Donate today and be a beacon of hope for our community!

What Our Clients Have to Say

“Not only are the food and in-home services great but the spirit of everyone at JFCS is truly gracious. Everyone who has brought me food makes me feel important and respected.” - Vivienne, a Holocaust Survivor Services client

“When I mentioned to my Youth Development Coordinator, who is helping me get back on track with my life, that I was kinda hungry, she didn’t ask why. Instead, she gently reminded me that I can make myself a snack in our kitchen and put together a food box from what’s on the shelves in the Just 3 Things pantry.” - Tyler, a Real World Job Development Program foster care youth

“I was relieved to be able to stay in my apartment and with the help of JFCS get back on track and not be a financial burden to anyone. I now have the resources to move on with my life without the fear of being displaced.” - Cora, an Older Adult Services client
