About This Event
- Event Type:Classes
The 1800s brought about dramatic changes to American Indian people throughout North America. Greater contact with non-natives introduced native peoples to new materials, including-ledger paper. Continuing a long tradition of recording important events on animal hide and stone, Plains Indian people began to use ledger paper as an art canvas and, in doing so, left an extensive visual history of their traditional culture.
