In the 1860s, groups of farmers and miners building on the knowledge of the natives peoples of the area transformed the Valley of the Sun into an agricultural powerhouse that is now the 5th largest metropolis in the U.S. In this presentation you will learn about those early pioneers and their very colorful stories. Hear about how these intrepid men and women overcame all odds to not only make a living, but to build the city we know as Phoenix. You will also learn about what several areas of the original Phoenix townsite look like today.
