- Categories: Creative Aging
About This Event
- Event Type:Classes
This 8-week generative writing series is a space to explore your literary curiosities! Each week we read different poets or short form writers then explore writing portals that allow us to dive into our own stories. Writing is an expressive act that brings joy into our lives, connects us to each other, and helps us process the human experience in all its hilarity and complexity. Reading, writing, and connecting enhance our overall wellness and spark wonder about the human journey. No previous attendance, background in writing, love or understanding of poetry is necessary to join us and no literary enthusiasts will be turned away!
Melissa Leto is a poet, memoirist, Assistant Director & Lead Facilitator for Revisionary Arts, a literary arts nonprofit that promotes self-exploration through poetry. She holds an MFA from Northern Arizona University and is an editor for Rinky Dink Press. She has actively written within and advocated for the literary community in Phoenix for over 20 years. Her work has appeared in Four Chambers Press, Shrew Lit Magazine, Write On Downtown, and Telepoem Booth. She is a New Yorker who can’t seem to leave the desert and lives near the Salt River with her wife and their infant son, one chicken, three dogs, and several experimental gardens.
