“ CONGRATS TO ALL OUR 2016 GRADUATES! YOU, friends of JFCS, help make it possible for success stories like this.”
Janessa is 17 years old and has been battling depression since a young age. As a result of her illness, she has really struggled with school. She tried several types of schooling including online, mainstream and a credit recovery program. Janessa is very intelligent and would get compliments from peers and teachers; however, she would get into a depressed state and lose motivation.
Last fall, Janessa decided to try the JFCS GED program at our Real World Job Development Center. Within 4 months, Janessa passed all of her tests and was awarded her GED!
Janessa is now working full time to save money for her own apartment, and she is now enrolled for summer classes at a local community college. She is a wonderful photographer and is aiming for her associates in digital media.
