Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS) volunteers offer their skills, knowledge and expertise in a range of roles and programs – including stocking and delivering food, conducting supply drives, making phone calls to donors, helping coordinate special events and assisting with special projects.
Our volunteers are the heart of JFCS. Dedicating over 600 hours of service annually, our volunteers are instrumental to our mission to strengthen the community by providing behavioral health, healthcare and social services to individuals and families of all ages, faiths and backgrounds.
Volunteers have the unique opportunity to reach out to homebound individuals, often older adults, with inspiring notes and heartfelt letters.
Our pantry collects cleaning products, personal care items and school and art supplies that will be distributed to our clients based on their needs. Volunteers can stock and organize donations, deliver supplies to our locations and coordinate supply drives. Learn more.
JFCS offers social action opportunities for adults, teens, B’nai Mitzvah students, community organizations and businesses. Some opportunities for individuals and groups include conducting a supply drive or preparing and delivering holiday items.
Volunteers can assist with communicating to current and potential donors. Tasks may include making phone calls, writing notes of appreciation and assisting with mailings. Volunteers can also assist with the preparation, set up, production and teardown of JFCS events.
Our Real World Job Development (RWJD) program helps foster care youth prepare for the future. Volunteers can assist with donations, organize and stock the RWJD warehouse and perform light administrative tasks.
JFCS Senior Enrichment provides social connections for older adults through online and in-person programs. Volunteers can assist with virtual programming, administrative tasks and holiday event preparation.
Volunteers can conduct a supply drive, including the collection, packing and delivering of items to our Just 3 Things Pantry. Supplies can include cleaning supplies, hygiene products and art and school supplies.
